 “求你成为我的异象”-背后的故事                                                                                      这支古老的凯尔特调一直是历史上最受喜爱的赞美诗之一。歌词的祈祷充满了对主的敬拜，对寻求到祂之后的无比珍爱，以及对祂的完全顺服。第1节，求祂成为我们的“异象”(歌罗西书3:1-2)。第2节，解释了我们与祂相联结而有的智慧(以弗所书1:3-9)。第3节，讲到主成了我们的保护(诗篇62:2)。第4节，讲述了我们对主的追求(彼得前书1:3-5)。第5节，赞美归给为我们赢得胜利的主(启示录5:13)。                                 传说中，公元5世纪，当圣·帕特里克在爱尔兰作传教士时，塔拉国王洛格颁布法令，只有在斯莱恩山上异教节日的大火点燃之后，其他人才能点火。为了反对这一异教举动，圣·帕特里克自己率先点燃了火，但国王并没有对他执行死刑，反因着他的奉献精神，而让他继续传教工作。三个世纪后，一位名叫达伦·福尔盖尔的修道士写了一首爱尔兰诗《 Roptúmo Baile》(“ Be Thou my Vision”)，以纪念圣·帕特里克的信心。修道士后来被海盗所杀，但他的诗歌作为爱尔兰修道院传统的一部分得以延续数个世纪。直到20世纪初，玛丽·伊丽莎白·拜恩将这首诗翻译成英文; 1912年，埃莉诺·赫尔将其改成现在这个广受赞誉的赞美诗和祈祷词。在我们生命的每一刻，主都是我们远超其他一切的异象。
