这是一个小小的仙人掌，是一个“仙人掌宝宝”。虽然它很小，但身上却长满了许多尖刺。你有没有被仙人掌的刺扎过？哎呀！那可不太舒服，对吧？有时甚至会让人想哭。然后你可能需要跑去找爸爸或妈妈，让他们用镊子把刺拔出来。真的不太好玩。

你有没有想过，为什么神要创造带刺的仙人掌呢？为什么它不能像草或玫瑰花瓣一样柔软光滑呢？为什么它会有刺？（可以让孩子们回答）

仙人掌是神创造的一种非常特别的植物。神给了它一种能力，可以在非常炎热、非常干燥、很少下雨的地方生长。为了在这样的环境中生存，仙人掌需要把水储存在身体里面，直到下一次下雨。但问题是，许多动物也会口渴。如果没有这些刺，动物就会把仙人掌弄破，喝掉里面的水。这样，仙人掌很快就会死掉。

神也创造了我们。祂是照着祂的形象造我们的。我们有刺吗？当然没有！我们不需要刺来保护自己，因为我们是神的儿女。即使没有刺，我们也可以感到安全，因为我们有全能、伟大的神在保护我们。

A cactus has needles for protection, but we have the protection of God

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

You will explain how a cactus needs the help of sticky needles to protect the moisture inside, but we don't need needles, because we have the protection of God.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

(Caution the children not to touch the cactus.) This is a small cactus, a baby cactus. Although it is small, it still has all these needles all over it. Have you ever been stuck by a cactus needle? Ouch! It doesn’t feel too good does it? It may even make you cry. Then you have to run to mom or dad and have them take the needles out with a tweezers. Not much fun.

Did you ever wonder why God created the cactus with needles in the first place? Why can’t they be soft and smooth like grass or rose petals? Why do they have needles? (Allow for answers)

A cactus is a very special plant created by God. He gave them the ability to grow in very hot and dry places, where it does not rain very often. To do this, the cactus must store up water to use until the next rain. The problem is many animals get thirsty too. If it were not for the needles, these animals would tear open the cactus to drink the water. Soon, the cactus would be dead.

God also created us. He created us in His image. Do we have needles? Of course not! We don't need needles to protect us because we are God’s children. We can feel safe, even without needles, because we have the protection of our all-powerful and mighty God.
