介绍

一年中无论是在母亲节还是其他任何时候,这都是一节庆祝母亲的课。孩子们学习圣经中三位特别的母亲,并把特殊的礼物带回家送给自己的母亲。

解释什么是孝敬/尊从/honor。一些孩子可能熟悉十诫,并可能记得这是其中之一。帮助孩子们明白,孝敬/尊从/honor父母意味着对他们好,尊重他们,即使你不愿意。孝敬/尊从/honor也意味着感谢父母为你所做的一切,并通过你在他们和其他人周围的行为表现出来。还要注意可能没有父母的孩子,可能与其他亲属住在一起的孩子。这个命令仍然适用于抚养孩子的人。


故事(15分钟)


把孩子们聚在你身边,为故事时间做准备。在介绍之后,读一读关于三个了不起的妈妈的故事。


介绍:

今天,我们要读圣经中关于三位特别的妈妈的故事。还有很多,但我们没有时间读圣经中提到的所有的特别的妈妈。所以,今天,我们将仔细看看夏娃,第一位妈妈,撒莱,也被称为撒拉,以撒的妈妈,和马利亚,耶稣的妈妈。

母亲可以选择任何数字和任何类型的步子。

孩子必须说,“妈妈,我可以。”如果孩子忘记说了,他/她必须回到起点。

第一个到达妈妈的孩子赢得比赛。

SPECIAL OCCASIONS

LESSON 2: SPECIAL MOTHERS IN THE BIBLE

A lesson to celebrate mothers everywhere, for Mother's Day or anytime of the year. Children learn about three special mothers in the Bible and take home special gifts for their own mothers.

BIBLE VERSE (5 minutes)

"Honor your father and your mother." Exodus 20:12a NIV


Explain what honor is. Some of the children may be familiar with the ten commandments and may remember that this is one of them. Help the children understand that to honor your parents means to be nice to them, love them, and obey them even when you don't want to. Honor also means to appreciate everything your mom and dad do for you, and to show it by the way you act around them and other people. Also be mindful of children that may not have one or the other parent, or may be living with other relatives. This command still has application for whoever is raising the child.


Discussion Questions:

1. What does the Bible say we should do for our mom and dad? (Honor them.)

2. How can we show mom and dad that we honor them? (By being nice, loving, polite, and by obeying.)

3. Why do you think honoring your parents is important to God? (Allow for answers.)


BIBLE STORY (15 minutes)

Gather the children around you in preparation for story time. After the introduction, read the story about three amazing mommies.


Introduction:

Today, we are going to read about three special mothers in the Bible. There are many, many more, but we don't have time to cover all of the special moms mentioned in the Bible. So today, we will take a closer look at Eve, the first mother, Sarai also known as Sarah, the mother of Isaac, and Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Discussion Questions:

1. What is the name of the very first mommy in the Bible? (Eve.)

2. What is the name of Jesus' mom? (Mary.)

3. Who was very, very old when she became a mommy? (Sarai.)

4. Who helped all of these mommies have children? (God.)

5. How many names of sons mentioned in our story can you remember? (Cain, Abel, Seth, Isaac, Jesus.)

6. Why are these mommies so special and amazing? (Besides what is mentioned in the story, encourage the children to share their own thoughts as to why these women are special.)

7. Do you know someone who is special and amazing? Who? Why? (Allow for answers.)

Children who arrive early can help with the preparation, such as cutting out the Care Cards or hiding the boxes in the classroom

Start with prayer and thank God for moms all over the world. Thank God for giving moms who work so hard to care for us and love us even when we've done something wrong. Have snacks that are different from those used in the Naomi's Basket Activity/Craft, such as cookies or crackers. As the children enjoy their treats, ask them what they will be doing to celebrate mother's day this year.


CLOSING ACTIVITY (5-10 minutes)

Mother May I (Game)


As the children are waiting to be picked up, play a traditional game of "Mother May I." Give a Biblical twist to the names of steps, for example: Goliath Step (giant step); Baby Jesus Step (baby step); Frog Hop (bunny hop); Virgin Mary Step (normal step), etc.


Game Rules:


Have the children line up along one wall of the roomChoose an older person to be "Mother"Mother selects any child at random, and says for example, "Jamie, you may take 2 goliath steps"


Mother can choose any number and any type of step.Child must say "Mother may I." If the child forgets, he or she must return to the start.First child to touch Mother wins the game.
