THANKFUL PUPPETS

MATERIALS: Activity Page [PDF] Click here Scissors, Tape, Glue Various craft supplies: googly eyes, markers, crayons, yarn, etc Wooden craft sticks DURATION: Approximately 10 minutes
PREPARATION: Print one handout for each child. Set a handout, some craft supplies, scissors, glue, and six wooden craft sticks at each child’s place.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: Ask the children to draw their face in one of the circles and then draw the faces of other people they know (parents, siblings, friends, teachers, etc) in the other circles. They may use the various craft supplies to decorate each face, such as gluing on googly eyes or hair. Then the children will cut out the puppets and tape them to the wooden craft sticks to finish the craft. Demonstrate how to use the puppets and act out a way to show thankfulness (such as sharing a toy or helping a friend). Invite the children to take turns acting out their own ways to show thankfulness. Application: Why is it important to show thankfulness (because it please God and shows His love)? Put on a puppet show at home for your family to teach them different ways to show thankfulness!
