当孩子们享用点心时,讨论建殿七年间工人们需要多少食物和水。感谢神供应我们一切所需。
结束活动(5-10分钟)
准备纸张和蜡笔或彩色笔(多准备棕色和黄色)。让孩子们画出所罗门为主建造的圣殿。提醒他们:
所罗门用了大量棕色的香柏木、花纹装饰和纯金来装饰圣殿。
虽然地基是用石块建造的,但在完工后的圣殿中是看不见石块的。

Explain why it is better to have Godly wisdom, than it is to have gold and/or other earthly possessions.
BIBLE STORY (15 minutes)
Gather the children around you in preparation for story time. After the introduction, read the story about -- right from the Bible. If possible, use a Children's Bible so it will be easier for the kids to understand.
Introduction:
near and far to listen to Solomon's words of wisdom. Solomon wanted to use all of the gifts and talents God had given him to build something very special for God. Let's read in our Bibles to find out more about Solomon's magnificent project to honor God.
Read 1 Kings 5-6 (Solomon Builds the Temple)Discussion Questions:
1. From whom did Solomon get the cedar and pine logs to build the temple? (His friend, King Hiram.)
2. Did King Solomon build the temple by himself or did he have many other people help him? (Many other people helped build the temple.)
3. Were any iron tools heard at the temple site while it was being built? (No, all the stone blocks were created at the quarry.)
4. What covered the walls of the temple? (Pure gold.)
5. How long did it take Solomon and all the workers to build the temple? (7 years.)
6. Do you think you could work on a single project for 7 years, if it would honor God?7. What are some other ways we can honor God with our blessings and talents? (Allow for discussion.)

As the class enjoys their snack, discuss how much food and water the workers must have used during the seven years it took to build the temple. Thank God for providing for all of our needs.
CLOSING ACTIVITY (5-10 minutes)
Provide paper and crayons or colored markers. (Have plenty of browns and yellows on hand.) Let the children draw a picture of the temple Solomon built for the Lord. Remind them that Solomon used lots of brown cedar, flowers, and pure gold to make the temple. Although the workers used stone blocks for the foundation, none could be seen in the finished temple.
