1.做:

STICKY SCRIPTURE

A fun way to memorize Bible verses using sticky notes. by Lauren Shelnutt

TOPICS:

MATERIALS:

Sticky notesBible, markerWhiteboard, eraserDry erase marker

DURATION:

Approximately 10 minutes

 

PREPARATION:

Use a dry erase marker to write the Bible verse on the classroom whiteboard. Write two words of the Bible verse on each sticky note using a marker in your best handwriting. Write the scripture reference on one last sticky note. Mix up the sticky notes so that they are out of order.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Practice reading today’s Bible verse together from the whiteboard as a class 3-4 times. Then, erase the verse completely from the whiteboard. Instruct students to face away from you and tell them for the rest of this activity there is absolutely no talking. Place a sticky note containing words from the Bible verse on each child’s back. Each child should have one sticky note only. Stick any remaining sticky notes containing words from the verse in obvious visible places around the room. Tell students to turn and face you.


WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

All right class, turn around and face me. Here is your challenge! All of you have a sticky note on your back with words from today’s Bible verse. When I say, “go,” your mission will be to put our entire Bible verse in order. Start off gathering any sticky notes hidden throughout the room and try to get them in order as best you can by putting them in a straight line on the floor leaving space as needed. Then, you will sort yourselves so that the notes on the floor in combination with the sticky notes on your back correctly put the Bible verse words in their correct order. But here’s the trick: there is no talking! You can use gestures and communication in non-verbal ways, but you cannot talk! When you all think you are finished, sit down as a group, and we will put your sticky notes on the board in the order you arranged them to see how you did. Ready, set, go!
