TANGRAM VERSE PUZZLE
"I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5). This verse is written on a Tangram, an ancient baffling puzzle kids can solve.

MATERIALS: Tangram verse puzzle for each child [PDF] Click here Scissors
DURATION: Approximately 10 minutes PREPARATION: Before class, print enough copies of the Tangram verse puzzle so you will have one for each child. Then, cut out the pieces of each puzzle and save them in small envelopes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: Give each child an envelope containing the pieces of one puzzle. Explain that the puzzle pieces go together to form a perfect square. See if they can solve the puzzle first with the pieces upside down. Then, allow them to turn the pieces over so the verse is showing and try again. This will make solving the puzzle much easier.
