我最喜欢的学生渴了可以不用请示就去喝水;

我最喜欢的学生可以不用举手就回答问题;

Green-Eyed Monster

A jealous heart is never happy. An object talk to show how easily jealousy can show its ugly green eyes.

TOPICS:

Coveting, Contentment, Envy, Jealousy

MATERIALS:

Large candy bar orGiant lollipop

DURATION:

Approximately 10 minutes

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Take out the large candy bar or giant lollipop, show it off to the class. Make a big deal out of how special the candy is.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

I am going to give this candy to my favorite student. In fact, I am going to let my favorite student sit anywhere they want, even on the floor. My favorite student can get up and get a drink without asking for permission. My favorite student will be able to answer questions without raising a hand. My favorite student will always get to go first when we play games.

How did all of this special treatment for the favorite student make you feel? Well, that depends on whether you were the favorite student or not. If you were the favorite, you may be happy. If you were not the favorite student, you may feel mad or angry. You may hold a grudge against the one that got the special treatment, even though it was not their fault.

Jealousy has been called the green-eyed monster. Jealousy is usually the result of coveting, or wanting, something that someone else has. One of the commandments God gave us is "You shall not covet". There are many examples in the Bible, where people got into trouble because of their jealousy or covetousness.

God tells us not to covet what other people have. We should thank God for the things we do have and not worry about what others have. If we remember this through out our lives, we will be much happier.
