老师：早上好，同学们，希望你们都过得……

木偶：（大声打断老师）你猜我中午要去哪里吃饭！

老师：（在此插入你的木偶名字），我记得我们上周谈过，你也答应过在我教主日学的时候不要打断我，对吗？

木偶：（低头看着地面）

老师：你不觉得遵守自己说过的话是明智的吗？

木偶：是的，是的，我觉得。（木偶点头表示同意，然后停顿）不过，“遵守自己的话”是什么意思呢？

老师：遵守自己的话，就是你会去做你所说要做的事；也就是说，你会守信用。这让你所说的话变得有价值、有分量，也让别人觉得你是值得信赖的。

木偶：我想我明白了。

老师：当你守信用时，你不仅是在尊重自己的话，也是在尊重你许下承诺的那个人。

木偶：尊重人很重要，对吗？

老师：是的，很重要；但更重要的是尊荣神。

木偶：那我们要怎样尊荣神呢？

老师：我们尊荣神：

当我们让祂在生命中占据一个特别的位置；
当我们尊敬祂；
当我们顺服祂的诫命；
当我们敬拜祂；
当我们为生命中大大小小的事情向祂感恩；
当我们花时间祷告，与祂亲近；
在一年中特别的时刻，比如圣诞节和复活节；
当我们向朋友述说祂所做的一切奇妙作为；
当我们欣赏并尊重祂所创造的世界；
作为基督徒，当我们守信用、守承诺的时候，也是在尊荣神。

木偶：哇——我从来不知道有这么多尊荣神的方式！我要努力一生每天都尊荣神，这是我的承诺！

老师：很高兴听你这么说！现在我要继续上课了。下课以后你再告诉我你要去哪里吃午饭吧。

Ways We Honor God

Teacher:	Good morning class, I hope you are all doing...

Puppet:	(Loudly Interrupts Teacher) Guess where I am going for lunch!

Teacher:	(Insert your puppet’s name here), I thought we had a talk last week and you promised not to interrupt me while I was teaching Sunday school?

Puppet:	(Looks at the ground)

Teacher:	Don’t you think it would be wise to honor your word?

Puppet:	Yes, yes I do. (Puppet shakes it’s head yes and then pauses) What does “honor your word” mean?

Teacher:	Honoring your word means that you will do what you said you would do; it means that you will keep your promises. It gives value and worth to what you say and makes you trustworthy.

Puppet:	I think I understand.

Teacher:	When you keep your promises, you don’t just honor your word, but you also honor the person to whom you made the promise.

Puppet:	Honoring people is important, isn’t it?

Teacher:	Yes, it is, but it is even more important to honor God.

Puppet:	How can we honor God?

Teacher:	We honor God by letting Him have a special place in our life. We honor God by respecting Him. We honor God by obeying His commandments. We honor God with our worship. We honor God when we give Him thanks for both the big things and the little things in our life. We honor God by spending time with Him in prayer. We honor God at certain times of the year like Christmas and Easter. We honor God we when tell our friends about all the wonderful things He does. We honor God by enjoying and respecting the world He created. We also honor God as Christians when we keep our promises.

Puppet:	Wow - I never knew there were so many ways to honor God! I am going to try to honor God every day of my life and that is a promise!

Teacher:	Glad to hear it! Now I need to get back to teaching the kids. You can tell me where you are going to lunch after class.
