引言：

今天我们要认识一位名叫喇合的女子，并看看她是如何帮助约书亚派出的探子。喇合用实际行动表明了她的立场，她选择站在神的百姓这一边。她也在为约书亚军队的到来作准备。

读 约书亚记 2:1-24（喇合与探子）

讨论问题：

约书亚派了多少个探子去侦察，尤其是耶利哥？（两个）
谁帮助探子逃离王的追兵？（喇合）
喇合为什么帮助探子？（她知道神要把这地赐给以色列人，也知道在神的帮助下，他们无法被阻挡）

In this lesson, children will learn about a woman named Rahab. The students will see how Rahab's decision to help God's people saved her life and the life of her family.

Read the verse together several times. Go around the room and ask children to share their thoughts on the verse; what does it mean to them? How might we apply it to our lives today?

SCRIPTURE READING AND DISCUSSION (15 minutes)

Introduction:

Today, we will learn about a woman named Rahab and find out how she helped the spies that Joshua had sent to look over the land. Rahab took action and displayed outward evidence of where her loyalties lay. Rahab was preparing for the return of Joshua's army.

Read Joshua 2:1-24 (Rahab and the Spies)

Discussion Questions:

1. How many spies did Joshua send to spy on the land, especially Jericho? (Two)

2. Who helped Joshua's spies escape from the King's men? (Rahab)

3. Why did Rahab help Joshua's spies? (Rahab saw that God was giving the Israelites the land. Rahab knew that with God's help Joshua's army would be unstoppable.)

4. What did Rahab do to help the spies? (She hid the spies from the King's men, then persuaded the King's men to leave the city in search of the spies. Once it was safe Rahab helped the spies escape.)

5. Where did Rahab hide the spies? (On the roof, under stalks of flax.)

6. What did Rahab want in return for showing kindness to the spies? (Protection for herself and for her family.)

7. What sign did Rahab provide to let Joshua's army know which house was hers? (Rahab hung a scarlet cord from her window.)

8. Who are you loyal to? God? Yourself? Your family? Your favorite sports team? Do your actions provide evidence of this? Think of some examples that demonstrate your loyalties.

APPLICATION (2 minutes)

In today's lesson we saw that Rahab risked her life to help Joshua's spies. Rahab's decision to help God's people saved her life and the life of her family. Like Rahab our outward actions speak louder than words, demonstrate what we believe, and show what we are devoted to. Our decisions will also effect those we love.
