(Whining) I CAN'T DO IT!  I JUST CAN'T DO IT! (Starts to cry)

Ali:

Sofia! What's wrong?

Sofia:

I just can't do it!

Ali and Lauren:

Can't do what?

Sofia:

I tried to be humble, like Jesus...but I can't. I want to ...but ...I just can't!

Ali:

Hold on! What happened?

Sofia:

Well ...I tried to apologize to Mark yesterday for being so boastful about my test scores, but it came out all wrong. No matter how hard I tried I still sounded like I was being prideful! Now he thinks I'm worse than before!

Ali:

I'm sure he doesn't! What exactly did you say? (cut off by Sofia)

Sofia:

I know he does!

Ali:

Well, maybe you should try to apologize again.

Sofia:

Oh I couldn't! I don't even know what to say! No ...I CAN'T DO IT ...I JUST CAN'T DO IT! (Starts crying again)

Lauren:

Sofia, you know that verse, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"?

Sofia:

Yes ...but what does THAT have to do with anything?! He will help me to do big things, like live in another country, or witness to people, big things like that!

Lauren:

Oh, no, no, no! That's not true! He'll help you do ALL things!!

Sofia:

Huh?

Lauren:

Yeah, He will help you with the big things, but He will also help you with the small things! Like helping others! Helping you calm down when you're angry! Loving someone who's been mean to you! Helping you control your mouth, so you don't say things that will hurt others. He will also help you to be humble!

Sofia:

Are you sure?

Lauren:

Yes, I'm sure! He tells us that we can do ALL things ...not just the big things!

Sofia:

And you think He'll help me apologize to Mark?

Lauren:

You bet He will. Just pray about it! He'll give you the words ...and the right attitude

Sofia:

Well, I guess I could try.

Ali:

Oh Sofia, I'm sure Mark will accept your apology.

Sofia:

Hmm, maybe he will, I just don't know.

Lauren:

Well, I got to go. Remember ...ask God! He'll help!

Sofia:

Okay, thank you Lauren!  Bye!

Ali:

Yes, I need to get home too!  I'll see you tomorrow Sofia. Bye!

Sofia:

(Sofia faces forward, looks up and sighs deeply)

Sofia:

I feel silly asking this, but will you please help me to tell Mark how sorry I am about the way I behaved?! And, God, please give me the right attitude. I don't want him to think I'm just being proud ...again!
