在上课前，把收音机的旋钮调到只能听到杂音的位置。

说明

在课堂上，打开收音机，把音量调大，让学生对刺耳的杂音有反应。然后问他们哪里出了问题。接着调好频道，找到一个清晰的电台。把这一过程比作在我们生命中需要自制。若要让别人从我们身上看到耶稣，我们就必须调掉世界的杂音。

2.说

看看我今天带来了什么。这是一台收音机！大家知道它是用来做什么的吗？（指向旋钮。）让我们把它打开，看看能听到什么。（打开收音机，让学生听到杂音。然后调高和调低音量。）你们看，这台收音机只有一个办法能有用，那就是我必须用旋钮把它调到一个频道。（调到任意一个电台，然后再把音量调低。）好了，现在我们有了一个清晰的信号。

我可以用旋钮调到很多不同的频道，但如果我不小心，听到的就只有杂音。这台收音机很像我们。我们同样也需要用一个“旋钮”，那就是自制。如果别人从我们身上看到的、听到的只有杂音——例如坏脾气、自私、愤怒、顶撞、或其他不好的行为——他们就不会看到耶稣在我们里面活着。我们必须把这些杂音从生命中调掉，转而调到神的旨意。

No More Static

An object lesson about having control over what others see and hear in you.

TOPICS:

MATERIALS:

Radio with tuning knob(Electric or battery operated)

DURATION:

Approximately 5 minutes

PREPARATION:

Before class, set the control knob on the radio so you can only hear static.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

During class, you will turn on the radio, turn up the volume, and get a reaction from the class before asking what is wrong. Then tune in a clear station. You will compare this to having self-control in our life. For others to see Jesus living in us, we must tune out the static of this world.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

Look what I have here today. It is a radio! Does everyone know what these are used for? (Point to the knobs.) Let's turn on this radio, and find out what we can hear. (Turn on the radio so that the static is heard. Then turn the volume up and down.) There is only one way for this radio to be useful. I must use the control knob to tune in a station. (Tune in any station, then turn the volume down again.) There, now we have a clear signal.

I can tune in many different stations with the control knob, but if I am not careful, all I will get is static. This radio is very similar to us, in that we also must use a control knob. It is called self-control. How can others know we have Jesus living in us if what they see or hear is static, like bad behavior, selfishness, anger, talking back, or other bad things? We must tune these things out of our life, and tune in to the Will of God.

The Bible says "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age." (Titus 2:11-12)
