等孩子(10分钟)

请孩子们列出一些可能让自己感到忧虑的事情，例如暴风雨、生病、开学第一天、结交新朋友、运动表现好不好等。课程正式开始前，把孩子们列出的事情汇总起来，写在白板上。然后告诉他们：无论我们正在为什么事情忧虑，神都能够帮助我们，也会帮助我们度过难关。

一个人不能事奉两个主；不是恶这个、爱那个，就是重这个、轻那个。你们不能又事奉神，又事奉玛门。（马太福音 6:24）

和孩子们一起把这节经文读几遍。然后，请孩子们轮流分享自己对这节经文的理解:

“这节经文对你意味着什么？”

“今天，我们可以怎样把这节经文应用在自己的生活中？”

引言：

今天的课程提醒我们，应当把神放在生命中的首位。我们将看见，荆棘怎样向正在生长的植物发起一场“战争”，最终把它们挤住，使它们无法继续生长。这个世界上，有很多事情在争夺我们的时间，其中许多事情会试图把我们的注意力从神身上转移开。我们需要除去生命中的那些“杂草”，免得它们妨碍我们与神的关系不断成长。

读马太福音 13:7、22（撒种的比喻：落在荆棘里的种子）

请孩子们在自己的圣经中找到马太福音 13:7、22。可以请几位孩子自愿朗读，也可以由老师读给全班听。

讨论问题：

1. 在今天的故事里，种子落在了哪里？（荆棘里。）

2. 落在荆棘里的种子发生了什么事？（荆棘长起来，把它挤住了。）

3. 有哪些事情可能让我们感到忧虑？（生病、学校里的事情、朋友、家人等。）

4. 我们应该让这些忧虑变得比神更重要吗？为什么？（不应该，因为神能够帮助我们。）

5. 我们一起来列举一些自己喜欢的东西，例如玩具、运动、食物和宠物。这些东西在我们的生命中，应该比神更重要吗？（例如电子游戏、橄榄球、披萨、小狗。不应该，神应当居首位。）

6. 我们怎样才能确保自己每天都花时间亲近神？（每天特意留出一段时间，并把这件事看为重要。）

7. 我们可以通过哪些方式，让神参与我们的日常生活？（祷告、阅读圣经、服事别人、心存感恩。）

许多人听见了福音，也就是神所赐的救恩，但他们更挂心的却是每天生活中的各种事情。他们花很多时间，努力想要赚更多的钱，认为自己拥有的钱越多，就会越快乐。遗憾的是，事实并非如此。一心追求世上的事物，就像种子落在荆棘里一样。只有借着神的独生子耶稣基督，与神建立真实的关系，人才能得到真正的喜乐。

PARABLE OF THE SOWER

LESSON 3: Seeds that Fall Among Thorns

The third Sunday school lesson, of a series, about the parable of the sower will help the children discover how truly wonderful the Word of God is and how we must not let worry, selfishness, or greed steal it away.

TOPICS

Parables, Witnessing, Worry, Worldliness

AS KIDS ARRIVE (10 minutes)

Have the children make a list of things that may make them worry. Examples may be such things as storms, sickness, first day of school, making new friends, being good at sports, etc. Before class starts combine their lists and write them on the whiteboard. Then tell them that no matter what we may be worried about, God can and will help us get through it.

MEMORY WORK (12 minutes)

"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Matthew 6:24 NIV

Read the verse together several times. Go around the room and ask children to share their thoughts on the verse; what does it mean to them? How might we apply it to our lives today? Ask the children to read or say the verse several times during the next week.

SCRIPTURE READING AND DISCUSSION (15 minutes)

Introduction:Today's lesson reminds us that we should keep God first in our lives. We will see how the thorns declared war on the growing plants and choked them out. There are many things in this world that compete for our time; many of them will try to draw our attention away from God. We need to weed out the things in our lives that keep our relationship with God from growing.

Matthew 13:7, 22 (Parable of the Sower - seed that fell among thorns)

Give each child a copy of the handout (Click here for handout) or have the kids find Matthew 13:7, 22 in their Bibles. Ask for volunteers to read the passage or if you prefer, read the passage to the children yourself.

Discussion Questions:

1. In our story today, where did the seeds fall? (Among the thorns.)

2. What happened to the seed that fell among the thorns? (It got choked out, by the thorns.)

3. What are some things that we worry about? (Sickness, school, friends, family.)

4. Should we let these worries become more important than God? Why or why not? (No, God is able to help us.)

5. Let's list some of our favorite things: toys, sports, food, and pets. Should these things have higher priority in our lives than God? (Video games, football, pizza, dog. No, God should have top priority.)

6. How can we be sure we spend time with God each day? (Set time aside each day, make it important.)7. What are some ways we can include God in our daily lives? (Pray, read the Bible, serve others, be thankful.)

APPLICATION (2 minutes)

Many people hear the Good News, which is the gift of salvation, but they are more worried about their day to day activities. They spent a lot of their time trying to get more money. They think that the more money they have, the happier they'll be. Sadly this just isn't true. Seeking the things of this world is like the seed that fell among thorns. People can only be truly happy when they have a genuine relationship with God, through His one and only Son, Jesus Christ.
