课前预备

上课前，打印一份“使命内容纸条”，并把每一项使命分别剪下来。同时，打印足够数量的“使命选择练习表”，确保每个孩子都有一份。上课时，用胶带把五张海报纸贴在教室前面的墙上。在每张海报纸上方分别标上 1 到 5 的数字。如果空间允许，每张海报纸之间留大约一英尺的距离。

选出五位学生担任“小画家”。给每个人一张使命内容纸条。你可以直接发给他们，也可以把纸条反面朝上，让他们自己抽取一张。这五位孩子要根据自己纸条上的使命内容，用彩色笔在其中一张海报纸上画出来。画完以后，请他们回到座位，和其他孩子坐在一起。然后，给每个人发一份“使命选择练习表”。孩子们的任务，是把每一幅图画与正确的使命内容配对，并在相应的空格里写上那幅图画的编号。五位画画的志愿者至少应该比较容易认出其中一项。等所有人都完成选择以后，请每位“小画家”向全班解释自己的图画，然后一起看看大家答对了多少。

Mission Assignment

DURATION:

Approximately 15 minutes

PREPARATION:

Before class, print one copy of the Mission statement slips and cut out each statement. Also, print out enough copies of the Mission selection worksheet to be able to give one to each child. During class, use tape to secure five pieces of poster board on the wall near the front of the class. Number the poster boards from one to five at the top. Leave a foot or so between each one if possible.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Select five students to be volunteer artists. Give them one mission statement each. You can hand one to them or have the slips face down and let the volunteers select one. These children will use markers to draw the mission shown on their slip on one of the poster boards. When finished, have them sit back down with the rest of the class. Give each person a copy of the Mission selection worksheet. The object is for the children to match each drawing with the correct mission statement by writing the number of the drawing in the blank space provided. The volunteers will most likely get at least one correct.

After everyone has made his or her selection, have each volunteer artist explain his or her drawing to the class, and then determine how well everyone did.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

God made John's mission and purpose on earth very clear. In this game, we will have five volunteers draw five different missions of John the Baptist. Your job is to match all of the drawings with the correct mission. While they are drawing, you can review these missions by reading Luke 1:17 and Luke 1:76-77 from your Bibles. After our artists finish drawing, I will hand out a mission selection worksheet. I will give everyone a few moments to make your selections, then we will see how many you got correct. Award small prizes to the volunteers and those who were able to get the most correct.
