LESSON 3: GOD BLESSES ME
This lesson teaches children that God cares for all the creatures He has created, but He cares for us most of all and gives us many blessings.

BIBLE VERSE (5 minutes)
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father." James 1:17a NIV
Explain to the children that God gives good and perfect gifts to His children. These gifts are also known as blessings.
BIBLE STORY (15 minutes)
Gather the children around you in preparation for story time. After the introduction, read the story from the Bible. If possible, use a Children's Bible so it will be easier for the kids to understand.Introduction:In today's lesson, we learn that God takes care of the animals. We also learn that we are much more valuable to God than animals. God knows what is best for us and will abundantly provide us with our daily needs.
Read Matthew 6:25-26 (Do Not Worry)
Discussion Questions:
1. What is the first thing this verse tells us not to do? (Worry about our life.)
2. What types of things do people tend to worry about? (What they will eat or drink, what types of clothes they will wear.)
3. What animal does God tell us to watch? (The Birds.)
4. Does the bird plant food or store up food in barns? (No.)
5. Who takes care of the birds? (Our heavenly Father.)
6. Are we more valuable to God, than the birds? (Yes.)
7. If God blesses the birds and takes care of them how will He bless us? (Abundantly.)

Supply a couple of different types of snacks and let the children choose which one they would like. Explain that God provides many good things for us to enjoy on a daily basis.
CLOSING ACTIVITY (5-10 minutes)
As the kids wait to be picked up, talk about some of the pets they may own. Discuss with them why it is important to take care of our animal friends.
