两件T恤（或用白色海报纸剪成T恤形状）

黑色记号笔

时间

约10分钟

课前准备

课前准备两件便宜或旧的T恤。如果没有T恤，也可以用白色海报纸剪成T恤的形状代替。

说明

做：

在一件T恤上画“X”，象征建立了不敬虔的声誉；另一件保持干净，象征敬虔的声誉。

说：

我这里有两件干净的T恤。我们要假装这两件T恤是两个孩子。我们叫第一件T恤“丹”（Dan），第二件“多娜”（Donna）。我们还假装丹和多娜是兄妹。

有一天，丹答应妈妈要整理房间，但他没有做到。我们给丹一个“X”，因为他没有守承诺。（在丹的T恤正面画一个大大的“X”。）而多娜则遵守了承诺，像她答应的那样打扫了房间。她的T恤上没有任何变化。

第二天，丹答应多娜放学后帮她写作业。但他跑去和朋友打篮球了。多娜问他为什么没帮忙时，丹说因为朋友们缺一个人。你们说，丹有没有遵守承诺？（没有。他只是找了个借口。）所以，丹又得一个“X”。（再在丹的T恤正面画一个大“X”。）丹现在慢慢变成了“X男孩”，意思是别人无法再信任他了。

睡前，妈妈问他们有没有刷牙。丹撒谎说刷了。再给丹一个“X”。多娜对妈妈说：“我还没刷，但我现在去刷。”然后她去刷了牙并上床睡觉。多娜说了实话，也做到了。所以她的T恤仍然是干净的。

当晚，丹想看漫画书。他匆匆读了几节圣经，就拿起漫画来看。妈妈进来给他盖被子时问他是不是先读了圣经。丹说是。但妈妈却不信他。你们知道为什么吗？（因为丹之前撒了很多谎、没守承诺，所以妈妈现在不知道他说的是真的还是假的。）

（举起两件T恤）你想做哪一种人？是身上全是“X”的，还是干干净净的？（让孩子们回答。）想要建立一个敬虔的声誉，从现在就可以开始。就像《马太福音》第5章37节说的：“你们的话，是，就说是；不是，就说不是。”不要像丹那样轻易撒谎和失信。要像多娜那样诚实可靠。

这个生动的比喻帮助孩子们认识到：一个人的言行会慢慢塑造他在别人心中的“声誉”，而每一个决定都是在为这种声誉添上一笔。

MATERIALS:

Two T-Shirts or white posterboard

Black marker

DURATION:

Approximately 10 minutes

PREPARATION

Before class, obtain two inexpensive or used T-Shirts. If unavailable, you can cut out T-Shirt shapes from white posterboard instead.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

You will draw "X's" on one T-Shirt to symbolize developing an ungodly reputation, while keeping the other T-Shirt clean to symbolize a godly reputation.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

Here I have two clean T-Shirts. We are going to pretend that these two T-Shirts are children. We will call T-Shirt 1, Dan, and T-Shirt 2, Donna. Let's also pretend that Dan and Donna are brother and sister.

One day, Dan promised his mom that he would clean his room, but he didn't. Let's give Dan an "X" for not keeping his promise. (Use the marker to draw a large "X" on the front of Dan's T-Shirt.) However, Donna kept her promise and cleaned her room just as she said she would. Nothing happens to her T-Shirt.

The next day, Dan promised Donna that he would help her with her homework right after school. However, he went outside and played basketball with his friends instead. When Donna asked why, Dan said his friends needed an extra player. Did Dan keep his promise to his sister? (No, instead he came up with an excuse.) Therefore, Dan gets another "X" on his shirt. (Again, draw a large "X" somewhere on the front of Dan's T-Shirt.) Dan is starting to get a reputation as "X" boy, which means he cannot be trusted.

As Dan and Donna were getting ready for bed, their mom asked them if they brushed their teeth. Dan lied and said yes. Dan gets another "X" on his T-Shirt. Donna told her mom, "No, but I will do it right now." Then, Donna brushed her teeth and got into bed. Donna told the truth and kept her promise. Therefore, her T-Shirt is still clean.

That same night, Dan wanted to read his comic book before going to bed, so he quickly read his Bible like his mother always told him to do. However, when his mom came into the room to tuck him in, she asked Dan if he read his Bible before starting to read the comic book. Dan said that he did, but she did not believe him. Why do you think she did not believe Dan? (Because Dan lied so many times before and didn't keep his promises, so now his mother doesn't know when he is telling the truth and when he is lying.)

(Hold up both T-Shirts.) Which person would you rather be, the one with the "X's" all over it, or the one that is clean? (Allow for responses.) One way to build a godly reputation is to start right now, by letting your "yes" mean "yes" and your "no" mean "no" as mentioned in Matthew 5:37. Don't be a Dan who easily lies and break promises. Instead, be a Donna who is honest and trustworthy.
