讨论问题：

3. 为什么但以理被扔进狮子坑？因为他违反了王签署的新法律。

4. 那条新法律规定什么？凡向神祷告的人，都要被扔进狮子坑。

5. 神救了但以理脱离饥饿的狮子吗？是的。

6. 神差派谁封住狮子的口？一位天使。

7. 当大利乌王发现但以理还活着时，他有什么反应？他非常欢喜快乐。

8. 既然神保护但以理脱离狮子，你相信神也能保护你吗？（让孩子自由回答。）

LESSON 3: Daniel and the Lions' Den

In this lesson, children discover how God kept Daniels safe from harm. They will also learn that when they remain faithful and trust in God, He will also help them during troublesome times.

BIBLE VERSE (5 minutes)

“The Lord is with me, I will not be afraid." Psalm 118:6a NIV

This verse reminds children that God gives them the courage and encouragement they need even during tough and fearful times, and He never leaves our side. Practice saying this short verse several times, and repeat often with the children during the remainder of the lesson.

BIBLE STORY (15 minutes)

Gather the children around you for story time. Read the Children's version of the story about "Daniel the Praying Man." As an option, you can read the story directly from the Bible found in Daniel 6:1-28. You can also let them hold their lion during the story time, as long as they won't be distracted.

Discussion Questions:

1. What was the name of the King? (Darius.)

2. How many times a day did Daniel pray to God? (Three times every day.)

3. Why was Daniel thrown in the lions’ den? (Because he disobeyed the new law that the King had signed.)

4. What did the new law say? (That whoever prayed to God would be thrown in the lions’ den.)

5. Did God save Daniel from the hungry lions? (Yes.)

6. Who did God send to shut the lions’ mouths? (An angel.)

7. How did King Darius feel when he found out Daniel was alive? (He was filled with joy.)

8. Knowing God protected Daniel from hungry lions, do you believe God can also protect you? (Allow for answers.)
