花一点时间讨论：亲眼看见耶稣行神迹会是怎样的感受？他的门徒因所见之事而震撼，并将自己的生命完全献给耶稣。全班一起多朗读这节经文几遍。

引言：

耶稣的第一个神迹充满象征意义；祂把用于洁净礼仪的水，变成了更好的东西——酒，而酒是用来庆祝婚宴的。后来在祂的事工中，在“最后的晚餐”里，耶稣将一杯酒递给门徒，说：“这是我立约的血，为多人流出来的。”

犹太人曾暂时用礼仪用水来洁净自己，但耶稣的血更为大能，能永远洗净我们的罪。这实在是一件值得庆祝的事。

LESSON 1: Water Into Wine

"What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him." John 2:11 NIV

Take a moment to discuss what it must have been like to witness Jesus performing miracles. His disciples were awestruck at what they saw and devoted their very lives to Jesus. Read the verse together several times as a class.

SCRIPTURE READING AND DISCUSSION (15 minutes)

Introduction:

Jesus' first miracle is rich with symbolism; He turns ceremonial water used for washing into something better - wine, wine that was to be used to celebrate a wedding. Later in His ministry, during the "Last Supper" Jesus offers a cup of wine to His disciples and states,"This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many." The Jewish people temporarily purified themselves using the ceremonial water, but the blood of Jesus is far stronger and washes away our sin forever. This is indeed something to celebrate.

Read John 2:1-11 (Jesus Changes Water into Wine)

Discussion Questions:

1. Where did the wedding take place? (Cana in Galilee.)

2. Why did Jesus' mother, Mary, tell Him that the wedding party was running out of wine (Mary anticipated that Jesus would do something to resolve the problem.)

3. Why did Jesus say, "My time has not yet come"? (Jesus implies that it is not yet time to publicly reveal that He is the son of God.)

4. What use did the water in the six stone jars have? (Ceremonial washing.)

5. Who knew that Jesus turned the water into wine? (His Mother, His disciples, and the servants.)

6. What caused Jesus' disciples to put their faith in Him? (Jesus revealed His glory by turning water into wine.)

7. How do we know this was Jesus' first miracle? (John 2:11 states, "This, the first of His miracles.")

Jesus' first miraculous sign shows that the Lord cares about even our insignificant needs as He turns the ordinary into the exceptional, for His glory. We should consider these blessings as anything but ordinary and loving thank God for the abundance in which He blesses us with His goodness.
